Intestinal colic is very bad one to infants. this is coming from various level and it is caused by abdominal wind confined within the intestines.
Colic refers to the extreme end of common crying behavior of babies with ages 3 weeks up to 3 months or from 6 to 8 weeks weeks of age. Experts say that the amount of the baby’s crying can be at varying levels and can be normally diagnosed as intestinal colic when a baby but cries extremely and excessively for more than 3 hours a day, more than 3 days a week, or for more than 3 weeks. Research shows that colic usually results from a combination of a baby’s temperament, environment and immature nervous system. Doctors and experts believe that colic is common and usually not related to any serious health problems.
It will lead to this only if the baby grows an intolerance to the milk protein found in cow’s milk, fructose, or if there is a transmission of byproducts of the mother’s medication while she is breastfeeding. Colic can be characterized in newborn infants if they show usually irritable attitude or cries for no apparent reason. Another sign of intestinal colic in a baby is abdominal wind discomfort or tummy bloating, possibly has a hard or swollen abdomen, knees which are being pulled to the chest, tightened fists, swinging arms and legs, an arched back, and experiences usual loss of sleep, fussiness and irritability. The usual symptoms of colic include severe irritation in a baby’s tummy, due to abdominal wind, but signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or blood and mucous in the stool are not indicative of colic. These signs could be a possible indications of a more serious digestive issue that would require him or her to go to the hospital straight away.
You may be feeling guilty, frustrated, exhasuted and confused during this time. If your baby goes through colic and you would want to treat it, there are various options available for you. Prior to administering medicinal drug to your child, you should always seek the advice of a medical professional. It is common among infants so medical experts have no problem with these measures being fulfilled at the hospital or in a sterile home environment. Some natural treatments you can use at home are a pacifier, gently rocking your baby and relaxed music. When colic periods begin, massage the baby’s back or tummy while in a quiet and non-stimulating environment. Changing the baby’s diet and feeding methods (such as breast feeding) and playing soothing music help the situation better.
If you are looking at a medical treatment, go to your doctor to get a prescription. Medical treatments for colic can include such things as Maalox, Gas-X, Mylanta, and Phazyme drops to relieve abdominal gas, or even trying different formulas to rule out allergens.
