Has it ever crossed your mind to begin teaching your baby how to use Sign Language?  It really is a terrific idea.  Not only will it increase bonding yourself and your baby, but a baby can learn Sign Language much earlier than he or she can speak vocally – sometimes by several months!  Wouldn’t it be marvelous to cut way back on the baby’s frustration and tantrums at home?  It can really happen by teaching your baby to “speak” to you in Sign language.

For an example, imagine that your ten-month-old baby is thirsty and craves milk, not fruit juice and not water.  The baby begins to fuss.  You resignedly begin the ritual of checking the condition of the diaper; checking for the presence or absence of a fever; removing objects from the baby’s toy bag item by item, repeating in increasing frustration “Is it this?”  You even offer the baby a bottle of juice – but the little one wails in disappointment and frustration when he or she realizes the bottle contains something that he or she affirmatively does NOT want.  Now both you and the child, and everyone within earshot, are completely frazzled; the baby is in tears, and you aren’t far behind.

All of this upset can be avoided, even if the child is not yet verbal.  All the baby would need to know, and would have to do, is to give a Sign to you that both of you recognize, and there would be immediate communicationbetween the two of you.  You could get milk for the child, and peace would reign once again.  Doesn’t that sound heavenly?

Well, It actually is possible!

Teaching your baby to Sign requireslittle extra time and can provide benefits for a lifetime.  Children who have been taught how to Sign have been shown to excel scholastically, emotionally, and socially.

Seeall that’s available for you and your child!  It’s fun for everyone, and extremely beneficial as well.
