Before mentioning anything else, it’s important for me to point out a fact that is often overlooked. Crib bedding (especially girl baby bedding!) is adorable and can seem like a vital necessity. You should keep in mind, though, that some young babies have died from suffocation in their cribs. To prevent this, it’s advised to use a firm mattress with tight-fitting sheets. Keep pillows, stuffed animals, and even fluffly bedding like comforters out of the crib. Newborns should be dressed warmly rather than covering them with blankets.
Buying individual pieces of baby bedding is more work, and often more expensive, than buying a bedding set. Choosing baby bedding is made more difficult because of the vast range of themes you can find - everything from pure white bedding to paisley print crib bedding. No matter how unique you want your bedding to be, you’ll find someone on the Internet selling it!
You need to have an idea of what you want when you’re looking for baby bedding. What theme have you chosen? Are you planning on a bassinet or cradle instead of a crib? What color are you painting the walls? Will the bedding clash? All of these things should be considered before you ever start your search.

Be sure to compare prices and look for deals, because decorating a nursery is not cheap. Contrary to what many people believe, online stores usually offer better prices than department stores. If you want to, then compare the prices online to the prices at your local department store, but I can almost guarantee they’ll be higher offline.
