Big Help for Parents: Baby High Chair
June 1st, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedFeeding can be enjoyable for parents now since he would be able to eat with the whole family at the dining table. Indeed, baby high chairs are such excellent equipment that can not only make every baby enjoy his meal time but saves parents from the trouble of feeding their child.
What are some features that parents should look for in a baby high chair when they’re about to get one for their baby? There are different features that the modern baby Graco high chair has. These make them better than the old stiff-backed wooden chairs that children before survived. These high chairs come with great back and head support for 6-month-old babies. It would be better for parents to have a high chair that has sturdy and adjustable back support that can support the baby as he grows taller and larger. This will ensure that you can still use the high back chair as your child gets older.
Any responsible parent would like to know if a baby high chair is safe for baby. You can be assured of baby’s safety with the label from the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association. A seal from that organization means that the high chair has been tested and certified as safe for baby’s use. You have to check of the belt is made from durable material and that the 5-point harness can hold baby’s weight for him to be safe from falling. But you would have to make sure also that he won’t be strangled. One thing to remember as well is to look for a tray that has a one hand release feature. Parents can easily remove the tray for cleaning. You can look for those that have built-in cup holders for baby’s drink. This will ensure that baby’s drink will not spill off when you’re feeding him.
You can find a high chair that has a wide base. This would make sure that the high chair is stable and that it will hold well even as the baby becomes too squirmy.
Food spills are a thing of the past with baby high chairs, but the best thing about it is that baby can sit on it to join the family every meal time.

The Right Choice: Lightweight Baby Strollers.
June 1st, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedAs you travel with baby, your first priority is his safety and comfort. Most strollers on the market these days are the regular hard back strollers which can hardly fit in a car and can be quite heavy and bulky to carry around. There are however, light weight baby strollers available now. These useful strollers are not only handy, they are also durable and can stand the bumps and rugged terrain during your long-distance trips.
A great Sit n Stand strollers is one that you can carry easily and still be tough enough to stand the bumps and rough terrain. It should be lighter than 20 lbs. Due to their light weight, there is normally a trade off in terms of price, with them being slightly more expensive that normal stroller. It can be range from $70 - $170 for a brand-new one. The light weight structure allows you to easily fold, store, or put it back up again when needed. Having a lightweight stroller is one benefit but you also would need it to be durable enough. Make sure that the hinges are fastened tightly and that it’s easy to wash the seat cover when needed. The material that makes it up should also be safe from disease-causing bacteria.
The best baby stroller must also have user-friendly features. An excellent stroller is one that has great neck and back support, which is good enough to hold weight and fit baby’s body structure. It may have to be retractable for your baby to enjoy reclining it when he wants, especially when he is asleep. It would be more helpful for dad or mom to have a stroller that has cup and bowl holders for baby’s feeding. It must have the necessary restraint to keep him secure whenever you are out. The wheels must be sturdy enough and if possible would not cause slippage on tiled surfaces. A built-in foot rest would be necessary to keep baby at ease particularly when he is just learning to walk on his own. This also aids them through giving foot support.
There are a lot more features that you need to look for in a baby stroller to make it fit for your baby. These might catch your fancy:
- It can come in a package with a bag and carry strap which are good for long trips.
- It contains sunshade which keeps your child away from the sun’s UV rays. This is also a good feature to use during excursions and outdoor trips with baby.
- Parents would love the one hand folding mechanism of the stroller.
You can very well enjoy traveling with baby with a light weight stroller and not considering it a big trouble.

Baby Activites from Birth to 3 Months
May 29th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedIf you are a parent of a relative newborn (0-3 months), it can be difficult to think or even know of baby activities that are worthwhile to try. Hopefully, this article will give you a few new ideas to try!
While your baby’s senses will not fully develop until about 6 months, she can taste, smell, feel, hear and see to some extent. However, there are still plenty of baby games and activities you can enjoy with your infant. The activities listed below all help your baby develop - they also happen to be fun!
Disappearing Toy - You should have a small object or toy that is bright enough that your baby can easily see it. Have your spouse hold your baby or secure your baby in a seat. Show your baby the toy, then hide it behind your back asking “Where is it?”. Pop it back out (not too fast so the baby is startled) with a “It’s Here!” Initially, it is better to be predictable so your baby can anticipate the toy’s reappearance. This game will start building your baby’s memory and cognitive skills.
Pat a Cake - Lie your baby down on a soft flat surface such as the bed or blanket on the carpet. Gently tap or rub your baby’s hands and fingers while singing the Pat A Cake rhyme. As your baby gets older (3+ months), you can gently clap your baby’s hands together as well! This is a good game for language and coordination.
Imitation Game - Hold your baby closely or lie him down on a soft flat surface. It is best to situation yourself within 8-12 inches of baby so she can see you easily, more so for infants. Now, start with simple motions, like a large smile or a tongue waggle. You may get lucky and your baby will try copying you! As your baby gets older, you can try larger body movements with your head or hands and arms. This imitation activity helps with motion coordination and also builds the emotional bond with your infant.
Another great baby activity we love is Tummy Time - you should already know about that one from your doctor though! There are many other baby games and activities you can share with your infant during the 0 to 3 month age period but we hope you give these three a try. Some of the best and fun baby activites are the most simple. Above all, make sure you have fun!
